The first “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ teaser trailer, released back in June, gave fans a look at the wedding of Bella Swan and Edward Cullens. But equally interesting were the guests of honor featured in the wedding sequence, which introduced new characters like the Denali clan of vampires. But with the movie in theaters on Friday (November 18), one attendee in particular will likely have Twilighters geeking out.
“The Twilight Saga” author Stephenie Meyer made her first cameo in the series back in 2008′s “Twilight,” playing a restaurant patron. But the author-turned-executive producer on parts 1 and 2 of “Breaking Dawn” couldn’t resist returning to the big screen so she could attend the wedding ceremony she inspired. In a blink-and-you-miss it moment, Meyer can be spotted sitting in the pews on Bella and Edward’s big day. But she’s not the only behind-the-scenes figure who makes a sneak appearance.
“I’m right next to her!” “Breaking Dawn” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg recently told MTV News.
Rosenberg understands, however, if fans don’t recognize her on the first viewing, because even she couldn’t find her cameo at first. She admitted to jokingly telling director Bill Condon that “there’s one guest at the wedding who’s not seen enough,” until Condon added a few more frames in the movie. But when Rosenberg still couldn’t spot herself among the guests, Condon took matters into his own hands.
“Finally, during one screening, he stopped and said, ‘See! There you are!’ ” she said with a laugh. “It was Stephenie and then [producer] Wyck Godfrey and then myself and then [producer] Bill Bannerman, we were all in the same row at the wedding.”
And as Meyer and Rosenberg are behind the “Twilight Saga” screenplays, it only makes sense that they took the time to come up with a backstory for their respective characters at the wedding.
“Stephenie was married to Wyck, and I was [Bella's mom] Renee’s friend from California,” Rosenberg explained. It sounds like there’s a fan-fiction to be written about the time between Meyer’s diner dinner and when she got invited to the Cullen wedding!”

Man, I’m so irritated.
I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they’re all messed up. Not only did they leave off the “Margaret” on Mary Margaret’s tags, but the text isn’t centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren’t smoothed out… they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.
So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday’s mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.
And then I saw it.
In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, “Our handicapped employees appreciate your order.”
So now I can’t send them back. If I did I’d be a total asshole.
I’m just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

Just five days after his conviction on a felony count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, a documentary about Dr. Conrad Murray will air on MSNBC.
The special, “Michael Jackson and the Doctor,” will include footage of Murray insisting that Jackson “begged and pleaded” for the surgical anesthetic propofol. It will hit the airwaves a few days after Murray settled into Los Angeles County Jail, where he is awaiting a November 29 sentencing hearing following his conviction.
“He asked me, ‘Please, please, Dr. Conrad … I need some milk [propofol] so that I can sleep,” Murray says in the special, according to MSNBC. “If I don’t get any sleep today, I cannot perform, I cannot do anything.”
After nearly 10 hours of deliberation, the jury in the Murray case came back with a unanimous guilty verdict, agreeing the doctor acted in a fashion that caused Jackson’s death. The seven-man, five-woman jury made the decision after 49 witnesses and some bruising testimony from prosecution experts lashing Murray, a cardiologist with clinics in Texas and Las Vegas who was recruited in 2009 by Jackson to help the then-50-year-old star stay healthy in the run-up to his planned 50-date comeback tour, This Is It.
The prosecution brought a long list of medical experts and emergency-room doctors to the stand to testify that Murray had not followed proper procedure in dealing with Jackson when the singer was in distress on the morning of June 25, 2009. They also presented evidence that the care Murray provided for Jackson in the weeks and months leading up to that fateful morning were substandard or outside the bounds of legal and ethical requirements. The witnesses concluded that Murray lacked the proper monitoring equipment to administer the surgical anesthetic propofol to Jackson, an off-label use of the intravenously delivered drug that was reportedly employed to help chronic insomniac Jackson get to sleep.
According to TMZ, Murray signed on for the documentary back in 2009 just after MJ’s death, and it will feature scenes of infighting among his defense team.
The MSNBC special will chronicle the trial from the perspective of Murray — who did not take the stand in the trial — and his defense team, including an interview with the doctor about the day Jackson died, in which he shares details about his relationship with the pop star.
In one segment, Murray describes Jackson’s appearance the morning he died, saying the singer looked “hysterical” and was so distraught he resembled his ghoulish alter-ego from the iconic 1982 “Thriller” video. Cameras have followed Murray and his defense team for two years in compiling the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s distributor also acquired the rights to an exclusive interview Murray gave to British broadcaster Steve Hewlett on October 30, which is reportedly the only interview Murray plans to give on the trial.
“I think in many ways, there were some mirror images in our lives,” Murray says about MJ in the special. “I’ve seen him cry so many times. He lived a life greater than a hundred years of pain of any human.”

Kristen Stewart is having a big week. Not only is she kicking off the first of her final two “Twilight” films with Friday’s (November 18) release of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” she also set the geek world on fire with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” trailer and reports that she could join the cast of “Akira,” based on the beloved Katsuhiro Otomo anime and manga of the same name.

KStew Approaches “Akira”
News dropped earlier this week that an offer has been made to Stewart to join the cast of “Akira” as Kei, the psychokinetic female lead. Warner Bros. is reportedly seeking writers for a follow-up to Zack Snyder’s Superman film — a year and a half ahead of that movie’s June 2013 release, mind you — and Team Nerdy pondered whether it’s just too early to look so far ahead.

Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That’s the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off Led Zeppelin‘s 1970 Stonehenge of rock, “Whole Lotta Love.” And that’s before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
That’s the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on “American Idol” rock night Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” in 2004.
The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album Led Zeppelin II. Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, “Love” was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called “You Need Love,” which was penned by Dixon.
For Zeppelin’s version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin’ Wolf, “Back Door Man” and “Shake For Me,” nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966′s “You Need Loving” from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin’s first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band’s only British single in 1997.
Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his “You Need Love,” and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. A cornerstone of heavy rock, the tune — which was the theme song for the long-running British countdown show “Top of the Pops” in the 1970s and ’80s — has been covered by dozens of artists over the years, from Tina Turner and Ben Harper to Prince, Slash, Leona Lewis, Train’s Pat Monahan, the London Symphony Orchestra and Jane’s Addiction.

Seventeen members of Michael Jackson‘s family — including his parents, brothers Jermaine and Randy and sister LaToya — were on hand Monday (November 7) in the Los Angeles courtroom when a guilty verdict was read in the involuntary manslaughter case against Jackson’s former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.
While the audible gasp heard when the verdict was read was reportedly that of Kathy Hilton — a close Jackson family friend and mom to Paris and Nicky Hilton — the family remained stoic during the proceedings and did not hold a formal press conference afterward.
Upon exiting the courthouse, Jackson’s mother, Katherine, told local news cameras, “Justice was served. I want to thank the jury for doing the right thing,” while brother Randy said he was “ecstatic,” and Jermaine said the verdict felt “wonderful.” Latoya, wearing a black and gold jacket reminiscent of something her late brother would wear, waved her arms at the crowd in celebration and also tweeted: “VICTORY.”
TMZ reported that the family later released a statement, reading, “We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn’t hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served! We can’t wait to go home and share this day with Michael’s children.”
Dr. Murray was found guilty on one count of involuntary manslaughter and faces up to four years in jail and the loss of his medical license. He is due to be sentenced November 29.
